Srinivasraj is set to take charge as the new president of Tamil Nadu Cricket Association at the annual general meeting to be held on November 2. Srinivasraj currently serves as the treasurer and will be elected unopposed on Sunday. He was the only person who filed nomination for the post.

Similarly, M. Kumaresh (Vice President) and R.

Rangarajan (Treasurer) is also certain to be elected unopposed. Srinivasraj will replace outgoing Chairman Dr.

P. Ashok Sigamani, who will have to serve a cooling-off period after serving as an office-bearer for two consecutive terms.

Srinivasraj is the managing director of Freight Console International Pvt Ltd and Friar International Logistics Pvt Ltd, which support five teams in the TNCA League, including two in the first division (Nelson SC and Sea Hawks CC). Freer is also sponsoring the TNCA Women’s Challengers (ODI and T20) competitions from 2022. However, for the post of Secretary, the contest is between current Apex Council member U.

Bhagwandas Rao and S. Prabhu, in which the former is a strong contender. Elections will also be held for the post of Joint Secretary and Assistant Secretary.

As. Rangarajan for joint secretary and K. Sriram is in the fray, while there are three candidates for the post of assistant secretary, namely Kalidas Vandiar, C.

Mariswaran and K. S. Srinivasan’s nomination is being accepted by the returning officer.

There are nine candidates for one place in the nine-member apex council, six for six places (city), while three members will be elected unopposed to represent the districts. It is noteworthy that all the existing office bearers were elected unopposed after last minute withdrawal of names on the day of AGM in 2022.
