Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation – At least two people were killed and three injured after they were hit by a suburban train near Sandhurst railway station in Mumbai, Maharashtra on Thursday (November 6, 2025), Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation officials said. The incident occurred around 7 pm, when four passengers were hit by a local train near the pole between Sandhurst Road railway station and CSMT station.
Services on the Central Railway line were disrupted after the incident. All four injured were sent to JJ Hospital. The five people brought to the hospital have been identified as Yafiza Chogle (62), Haley Mohamaya (19), Kaif Chogle (22), Khushboo Mohamaya (45) and the fifth person is yet to be identified.
Ahead of the accident, unions representing Central Railway employees on Thursday had stopped suburban local train operations for about an hour in the evening at the busy Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus to protest against the FIR against engineers in the Mumbra accident case that occurred on June 9, in which four people died. Due to the protest, passengers remained stranded at CSMT station for an hour. According to railway officials, services were disrupted between 5.
