Marking the 150th anniversary of the composition of India’s national song ‘Vande Mataram’, police personnel of Chittoor and Sri Sathya Sai districts celebrated the occasion on Friday, reflecting the spirit of patriotism and national unity in Rayalaseema. In Chittoor, a gathering led by Superintendent of Police Tushar Doody gathered at Gandhi Bomma Circle, where over a thousand students, officials of various government departments and the public came together to sing the national anthem. R. Rajasekhar Raju said that ‘Vande Mataram’ is not just a patriotic anthem, but a powerful reminder of the spirit and unity of India. He urged students and youth to carry forward the song’s message of unity and sacrifice, which was written by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee in 1875.
In Puttaparthi, Sri Sathya Sai District Police celebrated its celebration at the District Police Ground. Superintendent of Police S. Satish Kumar, Additional Superintendent of Police Ankita Surana Mahaveer and other senior police officers and staff participated in presenting the national anthem.
