The two-year-long Mangalotsav of the birth centenary celebrations of Kasi Math saint late Sudheendra Tirtha Swami will be held on January 11 at the Venkatraman Temple on Car Street in Mangaluru. Speaking to reporters on January 8, Venkatraman Temple Managing Trustee C.

A. Jagannath Kamath said that the Bhajan Sankirtan Yatra will start at 3. 30 pm.

It will start from the branch of Kashi Math in Konchadi on 11th January. Devotees from across the state will participate in the ‘Padukakas’ procession of Sudhindra Tirtha singing hymns.

The journey will pass through Mary Hill, Yeyyadi, KPT, KSRTC, MG. Road, PVS Junction and Canara High School, and will end at Venkatraman Temple. Saint Sanyamaindra Teertha of Kashi Math will join the devotees in the procession from Swadeshi Stores to Venkatraman Temple.

The sadhu will be accompanied by a golden palanquin containing idols of the presiding deity of the monastery. He told that the Mangalotsav stage program will be held in the temple premises at 8. 30 pm.

Mangaluru City South MLA D. Vedavyas Kamath said people participating in the procession can park their vehicles at St. Aloysius College Gate 1 and Gate C at Canara Vikas College grounds and Loyola Auditorium grounds of St.

Aloysius College. Dinner will be provided to the devotees at the health care center near Mahamaya Temple, Umamaheshwari Temple and near Old New Chitra Theatre.
