Chief Minister Siddaramaiah – Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara said that the investigation into the Hubli woman’s stripping incident will be handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) after taking approval from Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. A video of a woman, said to be a BJP worker, being allegedly stripped has gone viral on social media.

The incident sparked widespread outrage as police were accused of stripping the woman. Speaking to media persons at his home office, Dr Parameshwara said the CID would investigate the truth behind the incident and submit a report to the Karnataka government.

He said the government will take a decision after determining whose fault it was and whose negligence led to the incident. He reiterated that the police did not allow the woman to disrobe and they took immediate action.

He said, “I have already told you that the police did not remove her clothes and she did it herself. However, a detailed investigation is needed to clearly ascertain the facts.
