useless Akkarakkani Srinidhi – Akkarakkani Srinidhi said in a discourse, there is nothing useless in God’s creation. Because of our ego we think that we are superior to others. A student came to a sage for lessons.

The student was very proud to study under such a great scholar. When his Gurukulvas ended, he asked his Guru what he should give him as Guru Dakshina.

The master was aware of his student’s pride. He said to the student, “Bring me something that is absolutely useless. ” The student went out in search of some useless thing.

He decided to offer a handful of soil to his guru. But the mud talked to him! “Am I not responsible for all the beautiful things seen on this earth? Things that are fragrant, delicious, delicious โ€“ none of them could exist without me. How did you come to the conclusion that I am worthless?” Then he decided to pick up some soil.

Surely such wet soil would be useless, he said to himself. โ€œWait,โ€ said Clay.

“Have you ever paid attention to the soil in a rice field? You will find that it is kept muddy because it is good for rice cultivation. Now tell me, am I being useless?” The student came to the conclusion that God created with a purpose.

How can he think anything worthless? He realized that only ego and pride are useless things in this world. He gave up his idea that everyone else except him was not worthy of respect. He went back to his master empty handed.

The Guru anticipated this, and when the repentant student fell at his feet, he told him never to think of anything as worthless, for everything was created by God. The Supreme Being who creates is great โ€“ Purusham Mahantam, as the Vedas say. He is present in everything, and therefore nothing in the world should be disrespected.

If we surrender to Him without pride and ego, we can attain salvation.
