Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan on Monday (February 2, 2026) said that the Nitish Kumar government is committed to creating one crore jobs and employment opportunities in the state in the next five years. Addressing both Houses of the state legislature on the opening day of the month-long budget session, the Governor also said that rule of law and maintaining communal harmony were the top priorities of the government, which is striving towards achieving “development with justice”. The Governor said, “The government has so far provided jobs and employment opportunities to 50 lakh youth.

By 2030, one crore youth will get jobs and employment opportunities. ” Notably, the promise of โ€œone crore jobsโ€ was first made by the ruling NDA in its manifesto for the 2025 assembly elections, which the BJP-led alliance won with a thumping majority. The Governor also said, “Maintaining the rule of law and communal harmony is also the top priority of the state government.
