Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple in Srisailam remained closed for most part of Tuesday due to the lunar eclipse. Temple executive officer M. Srinivasa Rao said the temple remained closed from 6 am to 7.
30 pm. The temple priests performed regular morning rituals before closing. The temple doors were opened at 3 am, followed by ‘Mangala Vaidyaam’, ‘Good Morning Seva’ and morning puja.
‘Alankara Darshan’ of Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy and Ammavaru was allowed between 4. 30 am and 5.
30 am and the temple was closed at 6 am. All ‘Arjita Seva’, ‘Paroksha Seva’ and ‘Kalyanotsavam’ were canceled and Annaprasadam distribution was also suspended. After the eclipse ended, the temple was reopened at 7.
30 pm. After purification, rituals including ‘Samprokshan’ and ‘Mahamangala Harati’ were performed.
Devotees were given darshan from 9 pm onwards. Till 10.
