Chennai Police Commissioner A. On the orders of Arun, a police constable attached to the Ice House police station was suspended on Friday (March 6, 2026) for dereliction of duty.

Police sources said that Constable Surya was caught entering the house of a woman involved in an illegal liquor case in Ice House. She said he was under the influence of alcohol and tried to misbehave with her in the early hours of Friday.

The woman made a video of him entering the house. He then alerted his neighbours, who caught Surya and handed him over to the police.

Further investigation is ongoing.
