Amid busy political developments in the state, Janata Dal (United)’s Nitish Kumar may resign from the post of Chief Minister of Bihar today (April 14, 2026). Mr Kumar, who has been the Chief Minister for the last 21 years, is likely to tender his resignation after his last cabinet meeting. He is likely to address the party legislature meeting and then the NDA legislature meeting, where the name of the new leader will be announced.
The names of many BJP leaders are being discussed in the political circles of the state who can become the Chief Minister. For the first time in the state, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is going to become the Chief Minister. Prime Minister Narendra Modi can attend the swearing-in ceremony of the new government at Lok Bhawan on April 15.
