EU chief Ursula von der Leyen said on Wednesday an EU-developed age verification app is ready to go, as the bloc pushes to better protect children from harm online. EU officials said the app should be launched in the coming months and is intended to replace pop-up banners that ask users to click to confirm they are over 18 to access adult content sites.
