The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has sought response from the Center and others regarding the threat to hanging glaciers on the mountain slopes of the Central Himalayas. The green body was hearing a case in which it had taken suo motu cognizance of a newspaper report citing a study that highlighted environmental concerns.
