Three teenagers, who confessed to helping the accused in a 2024 rape case registered at Chilamathur police station in Sri Satya Sai district, were ordered to be kept in a government observation home for six months by the Juvenile Justice Board, Anantapur, on Friday. The juveniles were produced before Principal Magistrate R in a special session in connection with the case registered under various provisions of the Indian Code of Justice (BNS). During the hearing, the minors confessed to their involvement in the crime, following which the board directed the authorities to shift them to the government special observation home for boys in Tirupati. All three are expected to be brought to Tirupati on Saturday.

Mahesh said the teenagers have been found guilty of helping the main accused in the case. The then Chilamathur sub-inspector Munir Ahmed investigated the case and filed a charge sheet.
