But doctors say a baby whose eyes appear unusually fixed downwards could be an important warning sign. This lesser-known symptom, often called “sunset eyes,” can sometimes point to hydrocephalus – a condition caused by a buildup of excess cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) inside the brain.
