The BJP on Sunday announced five candidates for the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council elections to be held later this year. The names approved by the Central Election Committee include two names for the graduate constituency and three names for the teacher constituency. The party has fielded Avnish Kumar Singh as its candidate for the Lucknow graduate seat.

Manvendra Pratap Singh will contest from Agra graduate seat. Hari Singh Dhillon will contest from Bareilly-Moradabad teachers seat, Umesh Dwivedi and Srichand Sharma will contest from Lucknow and Meerut teachers seats respectively.
