This may also reveal details about their origins. (Image: El Paรญs) Argentina’s National Council for Scientific and Technological Research, known as CONICET, has been key in many of this year’s most exciting scientific advances.
Several months ago, they ran a submarine expedition that became an instant hit and inspired millions of people to watch the livestream on the deep-sea creatures. They have now revealed a discovery that could change our understanding of dinosaurs. Archaeologists at CONICET discovered a dinosaur egg, approximately 70 million years old, in almost pristine condition.
This egg was found by Dr. Federico Agnolin, head of the team of the Argentine Museum of Natural Sciences in Rio Negro province, located in the southern region of Patagonia.
Although other eggs have been found in Argentina before, none have been found in such excellent condition as this fossil.
