The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) will resume as scheduled on Friday after a proposal was agreed upon between the Cricketers’ Welfare Association of Bangladesh (CWAB) and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) in a late night meeting on Thursday. Senior Bangladesh players had protested against the statements of Nazmul Islam, who was later removed from the post of chairman of the board’s finance committee, due to which two BPL matches and four Dhaka Cricket League matches were postponed.

“Keeping in mind the wider interest of cricket, we will resume playing tomorrow (Friday). They (BCB) have assured us that they will contact them (BCB director M Nazmul Islam) and fulfill our demands as soon as possible,” CWAB president Mohammad Mithun told reporters at a press conference along with BCB director Iftikhar Rahman after the meeting.
