MLC Manjunath Bhandari – MLC and KPCC working president Manjunath Bhandari has said that the Congress party will carry out activities including signature campaign to spread awareness among the people about ‘vote theft’. Addressing a press conference in Shivamogga on November 7, Mr Bhandari said Congress party leader Rahul Gandhi had held a press conference to detail the theft of votes during the elections, which is a threat to the democratic system. Rahul Gandhi had revealed the theft of votes with all available materials.

The Congress party had decided to spread awareness on the issue across India and collect five crore signatures in support of its campaign. The signatures will be submitted to the President.

Responding to a question, Mr Bhandari said there was no need to submit the complaint to the Election Commission as the allegations were against a single institution. “There is no point in filing a complaint against the accused.

We will focus on spreading awareness on this issue among the people and submit our petition to the President of the country,” he said. Referring to BJP MP Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri’s statement that the national anthem Jana Gana Mana was originally written to welcome British officials, Mr Manjunath said the BJP leaders were spreading lies, and showing disrespect towards the national anthem.

“The incident shows that BJP leaders hardly respect the national anthem and the Constitution. ” Shivamogga District Congress Committee President R Prasanna Kumar and other party leaders were present.
