Superstar Salman Khan is in legal trouble over a pan masala advertisement. BJP leader and Rajasthan High Court lawyer Inder Mohan Singh Honey has filed a complaint against the Tiger Zinda Hai actor for endorsing a mouth freshener brand that is misleading consumers through surrogate advertising, ANI reports.
After the complaint made in Kota Consumer Court, a notice has been issued to Salman Khan and the manufacturers of Pan Masala brand and a formal reply has been sought. The next hearing of the case is to be held on November 27. According to the report, Inder Mohan has demanded a ban on the advertisements of Pan Masala brand featuring Salman Khan.
He has claimed that the advertisements of Rajshree Pan Masala are misleading the consumers. Speaking to ANI, Inder Mohan said, “Salman Khan is a role model for many people.
We have filed a complaint against this in the Kota Consumer Court and notices have been issued for hearing. In other countries, celebrities or film stars do not even promote cold drinks, but they are promoting tobacco and pan masala.
I urge them not to spread the wrong message among the youth, as pan masala is one of the major causes of oral cancer. “.
