hold nationwide protest – Condemning the increasing incidents of atrocities on Scheduled Castes, Tribals, women and minorities across the country, the Communist Party of India (CPI) has announced nationwide protests on Tuesday (November 18, 2025). As part of the call, CPI Kalaburagi district unit will protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Tuesday (November 18, 2025), said CPI District Secretary Dr Mahesh Kumar Rathore.
Addressing a press conference in Kalaburagi on Friday (November 14), Dr. Rathore said, “The situation on the ground continues to deteriorate, with marginalized communities facing violence and discrimination. ” Citing official crime statistics, he said the 2023 National Crime Records Bureau report recorded around 57,000 cases of atrocities against Scheduled Castes and around 2,835 cases of sexual harassment and assault on Scheduled Caste women.
However, he alleged that many cases go unreported due to fear, social stigma and inadequate police response. “The nationwide protest is aimed at drawing attention to the growing insecurity among vulnerable communities. CPI members have also demanded strict action against officials who fail to act on such complaints,” Dr Rathod said.
