Chairing a review meeting with the Cabinet Sub-Committee on District Reorganization at the Secretariat on Tuesday (October 28), the Chief Minister directed officials and ministers to resolve the issues arising from the unscientific district formation of the previous government and ensure that no new complications arise. The Chief Minister said a seven-member Cabinet sub-committee was formed on July 22 to review the matter. The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and ministers Anagni Satyaprasad, Narayan, Nadendala Manohar, Satyakumar, Anita, Nimmala Ram Naidu and B.
C. participated. Janardhan Reddy.
The ministers told the Chief Minister that a preliminary report has been prepared after consultation with district collectors, local public representatives and the general public. Shri Naidu criticized the unplanned decisions of the previous government, saying it led to regional disparities and ignored public opinion.
The reorganization should take into account the future delimitation of assembly constituencies and reorganize the revenue divisions accordingly. He said officials will have to study the situation of submerged villages after the completion of the Polavaram project to determine their proper inclusion in revenue divisions and constituencies. Highlighting the long pending demand for creation of Markapur district, the Chief Minister said this would be considered as part of the reorganization process.
Shri Naidu said the Cabinet sub-committee will meet again within a week to continue discussing the proposals based on the inputs and comments received during this review.
