Speaking at the National Conference on Strengthening the Legal Aid Delivery Mechanism organized by the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) in the Supreme Court. Court, Modi said the government has taken several steps in recent years to make justice delivery faster and more inclusive and will further accelerate the process.

Emphasizing that social justice can be achieved only when justice reaches all, the PM said that “the language of the law should be such that the people seeking justice can understand it. ” He said judgments and legal documents should be made available in local languages โโand praised the Supreme Court for taking important steps in this direction, adding, “When people understand the law in their own language, it leads to better compliance and less litigation. ” The role of technology in increasing access to justice was highlighted, with the e-Courts project being cited as a prime example of how digital tools are improving inclusion and efficiency in the legal system.
The two-day NALSA conference will deliberate on the key components of India’s legal aid architecture, including the legal aid defense counsel system, para-legal volunteers, Permanent Lok Adalats and financial management of legal service institutions.
