External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is scheduled to meet his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov in Moscow on Monday (November 17, 2025) to discuss bilateral ties ahead of President Vladimir Putin’s visit to New Delhi next month. According to Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova, Mr Jaishankar is arriving in Moscow to lead the Indian delegation at the meeting of the Council of Prime Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) on Tuesday (November 18, 2025).
Pakistan, which is also a member of the SCO, will be represented by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar. However, according to sources, there is no provision for his bilateral meeting with Mr Jaishankar.
Mr Putin is scheduled to meet SCO leaders, hosted by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, according to Kremlin sources. China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are the founding members of the SCO, which was later expanded to include India, Pakistan, Iran and Belarus as full members.
