The legal battle over businessman Sunjay Kapur’s Rs 30,000 crore estate continues between his third wife Priya Sachdev Kapur and former wife, actor Karisma Kapoor’s children – Samaira and Kiaan Kapur. On Friday, the Supreme Court heard Priya Kapur’s application, seeking details of Sunjay and Karisma’s 2016 divorce proceedings. On Friday, in a closed chamber hearing, the court told Karisma to file her objections in two weeks on the maintainability of the application, reported PTI.

While Priya Kapur’s lawyer argued that details of the divorce settlement are needed to understand whether issues raised by Karisma’s children were already addressed during Sunjay Kapur’s lifetime, the actor’s lawyers called the application “frivolous” and said it was aimed at digging out their personal information, which pertained to a confidential matter between Sunjay Kapur and Karisma Kapoor. ‘Divorce is confidential’: Sunjay Kapur’s sister hits back at Priya Kapur In an interview to ANI, Sunjay Kapur’s sister Mandira said the divorce between Sunjay Kapur and Karisma Kapoor is confidential and called the application ‘a diversion’.

“It’s aimed at diverting what is going on. Firstly, if my brother wanted to share this with her, he would have shared it with her while they were married.

So, I don’t understand why she is trying to play all this when she has already showed this in court. So yes it is to divert from what is going on in reality.

” She went on to add, “I think a divorce is confidential. They (Karisma Kapoor and Sunjay Kapur) have children together. It’s not like it’s a divorce without children.

I don’t think it’s anybody’s business, except for the two people who are involved in it. It is none of her business.

” Karisma Kapoor’s children vs Priya Kapur Karisma Kapoor’s children Samaira and Kiaan, who are currently fighting in a court case over their late father, industrialist and billionaire Sunjay Kapur’s 30,000-crore estate. They had approached the Delhi High Court in August last year, alleging that his will was “forged and fabricated. ” The said will reportedly states that almost all his wealth will belong to his wife, Priya Kapur, excluding his children from his previous marriage to Karisma Kapoor, and even his mother and siblings.

Mandira claims Priya was the cause of breakdown of Sunjay-Karisma marriage In October last year, Sanjay Kapur’s sister Mandira Kapur Smith had opened up about her brother’s marriage with Karisma Kapoor, during an interview with Vickey Lalwani. She also alleged that Priya Sachdev was also responsible for the breakdown of his marriage with the actor. “I had known about them (Priya and Sunjay) since they met on that flight, and I wasn’t happy about it.

Lolo (Karisma) and Sanjay, my brother, were in a good place, actually. Kian was born. My brother was obsessed with his kids.

I think for another woman to not care about a woman who’s just had a child is in bad taste. To come and disrupt a family is in bad taste. And I will leave it there.

” She further added, “I think the world knows what I’m saying. You don’t break up a happy marriage. Not even a happy marriage, you don’t break up a marriage that is trying to work on keeping a family together.

When you’ve got a child, you’ve just had another child, you step aside and say, ‘You know what?’ Or you encourage the man to go back and make it work. You don’t destroy a marriage.

And Karisma did not deserve that. Karisma was also working very hard to make this marriage work. She did not deserve what came to her.

” Story continues below this ad ‘We were against Sunjay Kapoor’s marriage to Priya’ His sister also revealed that her entire family was against Sunjay’ relationship with Priya. “He kind of convinced me that, you know, this was the one for him, and she was this way and she was that way. And I had a trip with my mother, my father, my sister, my brother-in-law in Goa.

And Dad was totally against Priya. He said, ‘He can never marry her. I don’t ever want to see her face.

And they can’t have children. ’ That was very clearly said. So, you know, that’s the reality: no one in this family stood by this.

Nobody stood by them getting married. Nobody stood by them. I did it because I love my brother.

But for me, Lolo had the children, she had everything. They should have made it work.

She should have been allowed to have her husband. ” In fact, both his sisters didn’t even attend their wedding in New York, in 2017.

“Actually, my sister and I didn’t even go for the wedding. We didn’t even go to New York for the wedding. I was very clear that my father was against this, and I wasn’t going to stand by it.

If dad was here, this wouldn’t even have happened. If he was here, Priya won’t be a part of this family.

My mother had to go because she was living with my brother. And she was very upset that we hadn’t come, but I think we were very clear that we could not support this, because the only thing Dad said to him was: ‘Do not get married and do not have kids.

” Karisma Kapoor married Sunjay Kapur in 2003. They welcomed two children – daughter Samaira, in 2005, and son Kiaan, in 2011.

But, the couple got divorced in 2016 after a long legal battle. Sunjay married Priya Sachdev the next year and they have a son Azarias together. However, he unfortunately passed away at 53, in June 2025.
