Revenue Minister K. Rajan has said that village offices across the state are being converted into knowledge centers equipped with modern facilities. He was speaking after the state-level launch of the construction of smart village offices here on Saturday.
As part of the initiative, the minister inaugurated the construction of 44 village offices across the state, including the Kanimangalam village office in the district. He said that around 700 smart village offices with modern facilities are already operational in Kerala.
Highlighting the slogan of โLand for all, records for every land and smart services for allโ, the minister said the changes in the revenue department reflect the reform-oriented approach of the government. He said the Pattaya (Land Ownership) Mission was introduced during the tenure of the current government, and the Pattaya Assemblies โ which enable direct public participation โ have helped resolve long-pending land ownership issues.
Describing the digital resurvey as one of the biggest initiatives in the history of Kerala, the minister said the state was the first in the country to implement comprehensive digitization of land records. As part of the pilot phase, solar rooftop systems will soon be installed in 18 village offices in Ollur constituency. Digital kiosks will also be installed in village offices to enable the public to directly access the certificates and related documents.
