Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant was hit just above the waist by a ball thrown by the throwdown specialist during his long batting session in Vadodara on Saturday. A PTI report said that the 28-year-old player was looked after by members of the support staff, including head coach Gautam Gambhir, and after treatment, he left the BCA B ground in pain. The left-handed batsman was involved in a long batting session before getting injured, where he focused on his forward defense while attempting the occasional lap shot.
Pant played his last ODI for India in July 2024 against Sri Lanka. He was part of the team that won the Champions Trophy in 2025, but did not feature in a single match.
