Thiruvananthapuram As the house-to-house counting phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists begins in Kerala on November 4, Chief Electoral Officer (Kerala) Ratan Kelkar said here on Wednesday that weekly review meetings will be held with recognized political parties to assess the progress of the exercise. Kelkar said this phase, which will run till December 4 before the publication of the draft voter list on December 9, will not involve verification or require voters to submit documents. During this period, booth level officials will distribute pre-printed counting forms to all voters included in the voter list till October 27.

The verification process and exclusion of ineligible voters will begin after the publication of the draft rolls on December 9. The hearing and verification period will run from December 9 to January 31, 2026. The final rolls will be published on 7 February.

A desktop exercise that matched the 2002 SIR roll used as a base roll revealed a match of 68% with the 2025 roll. These voters will not be required to submit any documents.
