Mustafizur Rahman exit – Vaibhav Suryavanshi) Bangladesh wants to shift T20 World Cup match from India after Mustafizur Rahman’s exit from IPL. Vaibhav Suryavanshi continued his sensational form with a brilliant century while Aaron George also reached triple figures as India Under-19 defeated South Africa by 233 runs in the third and final Youth ODI, completing a stunning 3-0 series win on Wednesday. Suryavanshi’s talent earned him both Player of the Match and Player of the Series awards.
Sent in to bat, skipper Suryavanshi, who had scored 68 runs in 24 balls in the previous match, was once again in destructive mood. The 14-year-old from Bihar displayed his fearless strokeplay, scoring 127 runs in just 74 balls with the help of ten sixes and nine fours. Opening partner Aaron George provided excellent support to him by scoring 118 runs in 106 balls.
Together they made a huge partnership of 227 runs, which laid the foundation of India’s huge score of 393 runs for 7 wickets. South Africa’s target was never achieved, as they were all out for 160 in 35 overs.
Ntando Soni (3/61) and Jason Rowles (2/59) led the bowling effort for India at Willowmoor Park, sharing five wickets between them. Chasing a strong target, South Africa faltered early, losing three wickets for just 15 runs in the fourth over. Kishan Singh wreaked havoc at the top, dismissing Zorich van Schalkwyk (1), Adnan Lagadian (9), and Lethabo Phahlamohlaka (0).
The 19-year-old Singh, who had already taken four wickets in the second ODI, was once again the standout bowler. A brief fightback from Daniel Bosman (40) and Jason Rowles (19) proved insufficient as South Africa were reduced to 99 for six in the 23rd over.
Late resistance from Paul James (41) and Corn Botha (36 not out) only delayed the inevitable. Suryavanshi’s third maiden ODI century further cemented his growing reputation.
He has scored 973 runs in 18 matches at an average of 54. 05 and strike rate of 164. 08, which includes three centuries and four fifties.
India had already clinched the series with a 25-run DLS win in the first match and an eight-wicket win in the second ODI, making this final win a fitting conclusion to a dominant campaign.
