Jogi Thottam Housing – On Saturday (October 25, 2025), a one and a half year old child died by drowning in a bucket in Nandanam, Chennai. Chennai city police said the couple, Sriram and Santana Lakshmi, have a one-and-a-half-year-old son named Dhanish. They live on the fourth floor of Jogi Thottam Housing Board apartment in Nandanam.

On Saturday, Sriram had gone to work at a private company in Ambattur, and his wife Santana Lakshmi took him to a neighboring house in the same apartment complex to inquire about the health of the child. When the mother put the child down and went to talk to the neighbor in the other room, the child entered the bathroom and fell into a bucket filled with water.

After a few minutes, Sanatan Lakshmi started searching for her child and found him drowned in the bathroom. The child was taken to a private hospital where he was declared dead. Teynampet police have registered a case and are investigating.
