Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a two-day state visit to Thimphu, Bhutan to attend the 70th birthday celebrations of the fourth king. He will hold discussions with the current King, former King and Prime Minister with the aim of deepening friendship and strengthening shared progress.

The visit also included the inauguration of the Punatsangchu-II hydropower project, a key element of their energy partnership.
