According to a Right to Information (RTI) response, government records show that at least 149 leopards died in Madhya Pradesh since January 2025. According to an RTI response obtained by wildlife activist Ajay Dubey, 113 leopards lost their lives in 2025, while 36 leopards died in January and February this year.
