Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, during his visit to forward areas here, on Sunday (February 8, 2026) reviewed the ongoing counter-terrorism operations and the prevailing security situation, and also discussed induction of advanced technologies to further enhance operational capability, the Army said on Sunday (February 8, 2026). The Army chief attended a high-level security review meeting chaired by Home Minister Amit Shah and visited the White Knight headquarters in Jammu on Friday (February 6, 2026) before visiting the twin border districts of Poonch and Rajouri on Saturday (February 7, 2026).

Counter Insurgency Force (ROMEO), or CIF(R), is a specialized formation of the Army responsible for operations against terrorist networks in the challenging terrain of Rajouri and Poonch districts.
