official Seema Jain – Seema Jain, Finance Member, Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), said the initiative to bring in foreign direct investment (FDI) from the ambit of banking (i. e. , banking FDI) to finance nuclear energy projects is in the pipeline and is now going for inter-ministerial consultation.

Speaking at the inaugural session of the workshop on the Peace Act, 2025 here, the official said, “For financing we will need all kinds of innovative measures to create wealth and financial space for the sector,” adding, “For this, banking FDI initiatives are also in the pipeline, the Atomic Energy Commission has already approved the [FDI] policy, and is now going for inter-ministerial consultations. ”.
