loud horns Superintendent – Superintendent of Police (SP) Vikrant Patil warned that vehicles with modified silencers or horns causing noise pollution would be seized and fined. In a month-long special operation, Kurnool sub-division and traffic police had seized 100 modified silencers and 500 loud horns fitted in autorickshaws. The seized goods were destroyed by a road-roller near Kondareddy Fort in the city on Saturday.
Speaking to the media, Mr. Vikrant Patil said that some youth were modifying silencers and horns, causing inconvenience to people, especially during the night. A special campaign was launched after complaints from the general public.
He warned that if any vehicle was found modified in violation of the Motor Vehicles Act, action would be taken against the owners. The SP asked people to cooperate with the police by following traffic rules and road safety norms.
