Middle East Crisis – India condemned America’s ‘baseless’ claim of using its ports after an Iranian warship was torpedoed in the Indian Ocean. The Ministry of External Affairs has denied reports which claimed that the US is using India’s ports to attack Iran amid the ongoing tension in the Middle East.
This comes after former US Army Colonel Douglas McGregor, during an interview with a US-based channel, claimed that the US was using Indian naval bases in its war against Iran. “All our bases have been destroyed. Our port installations have been destroyed.
We are actually having to retreat to India and Indian ports, which is less than ideal, that’s what the Navy says. ” East calls on all parties involved to exercise restraint, avoid escalating and ensure the safety of civilians. Chaos spread across the Middle East after the joint forces of the US and Israel carried out coordinated air strikes on Iran, killing the country’s 86-year-old Supreme Leader Ayatollah Iran retaliated by targeting US military bases in the Gulf, sinking the Iranian warship IRIS in the Indian Ocean, the first such attack since World War II.
The submarine attack entered its sixth day and reports indicate that the conflict has already killed more than 1,000 people in Israel. US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have defended the offensive.
“If we hadn’t done it earlier, they would have done it to Israel and given us a chance,” Trump said.
