As per the instructions of the state government, a special yoga program is being organized by the management of Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple on Monay (June 8). Temple executive officer M Srinivasa Rao said a special stage was being set up at the Gangadhar Mandapam for the purpose. He said that all arrangements are being made to organize the yoga program in the area extending from Gangadhar Mandapam to Nandi Mandapam.

Sri Srinivasa Rao urged the local people and pilgrims to participate in the program and gain understanding of Yoga. Meanwhile, the yoga training program organized by the temple management under the ‘Yogandhra’ initiative continued on Sunday (07 June).

Mr. Srinivasa Rao said that the training program is scheduled to be held till June 20, ahead of the International Yoga Day celebrated on June 21.

He said more than 600 yoga practitioners participated and received training during the Sunday session held at Chandravati Kalyana Mandapam. The participants included Devasthanam staff, local people, ‘Shiv Sevaks’ (volunteers) and pilgrims.

He said that some Shiv Sevaks from Maharashtra also took part in the training. The program included chanting of ‘Omkar’ by all the participants, followed by various micro exercises (subtle exercises) and several yoga asanas.
