In a fresh effort to break the long-running impasse over Legislative Council nominations, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy met Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla at Lok Bhavan on Sunday (April 19, 2026), and urged for expeditious approval of the pending nominations under the Governor’s quota.

The names of Professor M. Kodandram and Mohammed Azharuddin, which were earlier approved by the state cabinet, are pending at the Lok Bhavan since the previous governor Jishnu Dev Verma, who has now transferred to Maharashtra, was appointed.
