On a sweltering day at the Sentosa Golf Club Serapong course, Jeev Milkha Singh kept going even though the odds were against the experienced Indian golfer during a challenging first round encounter at the recent Singapore Open. The 54-year-old, who is in the final stages of his career, was displaying his intelligence against players who were much younger – many less than half his age – and stronger.

In the tough conditions, which his ‘junior’ Karandeep Kochhar compared to an “oven”, Jeev’s body was becoming so strained that he was struggling to even swing properly.
